Product Description
Product Overview

This Spiral High Speed Door is engineered around one measurable objective: cut the time a forklift spends waiting at a doorway. With an opening speed up to 1.5 m/s and a controlled closing speed of 0.8 m/s, a full open-close cycle finishes in a few seconds, so vehicles do not stop and queue at the threshold. Panels travel in a helical guide rail and park in a compact spiral housing, giving a completely clear traffic lane the moment the door reaches its upper limit.
The result is a higher number of passages per hour on the same doorway, less idle running time for forklifts, and a smoother flow between receiving, storage and dispatch zones.

Why Doorway Waiting Time Costs Money
  • Idle vehicle time — every stopped forklift burns operator hours and battery charge without moving goods.
  • Queue build-up — a slow door becomes the bottleneck of a whole aisle when several trucks arrive together.
  • Lost temperature and cleanliness — a door held open for a slow approach lets air, dust and humidity into the controlled zone.
  • Cross-traffic risk — vehicles waiting in the opening block pedestrians and create collision exposure.

A faster cycle fixes all four at once: less waiting, less queueing, shorter open time and a clear lane sooner.

Speed and Cycle Performance
ParameterValue
Opening speedUp to 1.5 m/s (adjustable)
Closing speed0.8 m/s (adjustable)
Full cycle for a 4.5 m high openingApprox. 4–5 seconds open to close
Reference throughputUp to about 400–600 passages per hour in continuous forklift use
Daily cycle duty800–1200 cycles per day
DriveServo motor with integrated servo controller, soft start and soft stop

Speed is adjustable on site: the controller can be set slower for heavy truck traffic and faster for light forklift or personnel traffic, so the door matches the actual traffic pattern instead of running one fixed speed.

Traffic Flow Design Features
  • Instant clear opening — rigid panels stack in the spiral housing, leaving full width and full height free, with no bottom rail to cross.
  • Activation on approach — radar, magnetic loop or pull-cord triggers open the door before the vehicle reaches the threshold.
  • Servo soft stop — smooth deceleration protects panel joints during high-cycle duty and reduces noise near workstations.
  • Non-contact panel path — 220 mm wide panels keep a 2–3 mm clearance to the guide rail, so high cycle counts do not produce panel abrasion.
  • Safety for mixed traffic — infrared photocell and bottom safety edge stop or reverse the door if a person or pallet is detected.

Where It Pays Back Fastest
  • Receiving and shipping docks with continuous forklift traffic
  • Distribution centers with tight dispatch windows
  • Production to warehouse transfer corridors
  • Cold chain antechambers where open time must stay short
  • Cross-docking hubs with mixed vehicle and personnel movement
Ordering Process
  1. Tell us opening size, traffic type (forklift, truck, personnel) and passages per hour.
  2. We calculate the required cycle speed and recommend the activation sensors.
  3. Drawing approval, then 30% T/T deposit and balance before shipment.
  4. Production 15–25 working days, sea freight in plywood cases.
  5. Remote commissioning support and spare parts service during warranty.
Payment and Delivery

Payment term is T/T (telegraphic transfer). A 30% deposit confirms the order and the balance is settled before shipment. Price is quoted per project according to opening size and configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much time does a faster door actually save?

For a 4.5 m high opening, a 2.0 m/s door completes an open-close cycle in roughly 4–5 seconds. At high traffic that removes most of the stopping and waiting time per vehicle.

Can the speed be reduced after installation?

Yes. The servo controller allows on-site adjustment, so the same door can run fast for forklifts and slower where heavy trucks pass.

Is 1.5 m/s safe for personnel traffic?

The door relies on photocells, a bottom safety edge and soft-stop control. For pedestrian-heavy lanes we recommend a separate pass door or a speed setting matched to foot traffic.

What power supply is needed?

220 V single phase, 50/60 Hz. No three-phase supply is required for this model.

How is the door protected against wind?

Standard rails are rated to Beaufort 8; reinforced rails and wind locks extend this to Beaufort 10 for exposed external gateways.
