Product Description
Product Overview

The Spiral High Speed Door with a helical guide rail is a rigid-panel rapid door built for oversized openings such as 7000 mm wide by 8000 mm high (approximately 56 m²). Instead of winding the curtain tightly onto a drum, the door lifts each 220 mm wide aluminum panel along a continuous spiral track. Panels stay parallel and separated through the whole travel cycle, so there is no layer-to-layer pressing, no edge rubbing and no abrasive contact between panel faces.

This friction-free path is the core difference from roll-up shutters and soft PVC doors: the panel surface keeps its coating, its flatness and its thermal performance far longer, which directly reduces replacement cost and service downtime on high-traffic factory gateways.

The Cost of Panel Friction in Conventional Doors

In a traditional roll-up structure the curtain is coiled layer over layer under tension. Every opening cycle presses panel against panel, and every closing cycle drags the surface against the guide. Three problems follow:

  • Coating wear — paint and film polish away along the coil radius, exposing the base material to moisture and corrosion.
  • Edge fatigue — repeated bending at a small radius creates micro-cracks that grow into panel deformation.
  • Seal distortion — a warped panel no longer meets the brush or rubber seal, so wind, dust and heat leak through.

The spiral guide rail removes the root cause: without tight winding there is no pressing force, and without pressing force there is no abrasion.

How the Helical Guide Rail Works
  • Panel pickup — the servo drive lifts the bottom panel, which enters the spiral guide rail at the side frame.
  • Helical travel — each panel follows the curved aluminum rail with rolling contact only, keeping a 2–3 mm clearance to the channel wall.
  • Parked position — panels stack in the spiral housing above the opening, leaving the traffic lane fully clear and saving headroom compared with sectional doors.
  • Controlled deceleration — the servo controller ramps speed down at both end positions, protecting the rail and the panel joints on a 56 m² panel stack.
Key Advantages
  • Friction-free panel path — rolling contact only, no sliding abrasion between panels.
  • Wear-resistant 220 mm panels — 0.7 mm aluminum skin over PU core, 40 mm or 43 mm thick; 43 mm is recommended for the 8 m lifting height.
  • Fast cycles — opening speed 0.6–1.2 m/s, tuned for oversized panel weight.
  • 220 V single phase operation — standard single-phase supply, no three-phase conversion needed on site.
  • Weather and wind stability — Beaufort 8 standard, Beaufort 10 with reinforced rails and wind locks.
  • Low maintenance — no springs, no winding drum, no curtain re-tensioning.
Engineering for a 7000 * 8000 mm Opening
  • Reinforced double-wall guide rail and additional wind locks for a 56 m² panel stack.
  • Extra internal reinforcing ribs at 43 mm panel thickness to hold flatness over 8 m of lifting height.
  • 1.5–2.2 kW servo drive sized for total panel weight with a safety factor.
  • Balancing system and hand-crank release validated for full-height manual operation after power failure.
  • Site drawing issued before production to confirm headroom, spiral housing clearance and fixing points.

Ordering Process
  1. Send opening width, height, installation type and daily cycle count.
  2. We issue a layout drawing and confirm panel thickness, rail type and drive size.
  3. 30% T/T deposit after drawing approval, balance before shipment.
  4. Production 20–30 working days, then sea freight with plywood case packing.
  5. Remote commissioning support and spare parts supply during warranty.
Payment and Delivery

Payment term is T/T (telegraphic transfer). A 30% deposit confirms the order and the balance is settled before shipment. Production lead time is 20–30 working days for a 7000 * 8000 mm door after drawing approval.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a spiral door reach 7000 * 8000 mm?

Yes. The rail and drive are specified for this size; we reinforce the guide rail, add wind locks and recommend a 43 mm panel to hold flatness over the 8 m height.

Does the door need three-phase power?

No. This model runs on 220 V single phase, 50/60 Hz, which suits most export destinations without site power conversion.

How is panel wear actually reduced?

Panels travel inside a helical rail with 2–3 mm clearance and never coil onto a drum, so surfaces do not press or slide against each other.

What happens during a power failure?

The brake can be released and the door lifted with the hand crank and balancing system, so the opening can always be cleared manually.

Which panel thickness should I choose?

40 mm for standard heights, 43 mm for tall openings, high wind load sites or temperature-controlled zones.
